The Magic Blade A Short Story by Crimson Quintessence

Zane Blood looked at the magic blade in his hands and felt anxious.

He walked over to the window and reflected on his creepy surroundings. He had always hated cold Belfast with its red, round rivers. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel anxious.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Raylene Bone. Raylene was a vile lover with tall thick legs and feathery arms.

Zane gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was a remarkable, malicious, whiskey drinker with a strong spine and ample arms. His friends saw him as a violent, vacant volcano. Once, he had even slit the throat of a sweet disabled person across the road.

But not even a remarkable beast who had once killed a sweet disabled person across the road, was prepared for what Raylene had in store today.

The sleet rained like rampaging rats, making Zane ambivalent.

As Zane stepped outside and Raylene came closer, he could see the devilish smile on her face.

Raylene glared with the wrath of 1000 hell beasts. She said, in hushed tones, “I hate you and I want to rip you to shreds.”

Zane looked back, even more ambivalent and still fingering the magic blade. “Raylene, I love another,” he replied.

They looked at each other with shocked feelings, like two hurt, high-pitched altos collapsing at a very generous funeral, which had classical music playing in the background and two tight-fisted uncles running to the beat.

Suddenly, Raylene lunged forward and tried to punch Zane in the face. Quickly, Zane grabbed the magic blade and brought it down on Rayne’s skull.

Raylene’s legs trembled and her feathery arms wobbled. She looked sad, her emotions raw like a tan, tart torch.

Then she let out an agonising groan and collapsed onto the ground. Moments later Raylene Bone was dead.

Zane Blood went back inside and made himself a nice glass of whiskey.
