The Sacred Black Crow by Crimson Quintessence

I was walking along a  lengthy winding road when the darkness came

I was lost,  and screaming in pain

my head hurt so bad I’d forgotten my name

and there, I stood, in the middle of that road, in the pouring rain

I’m not sure how long it was, but when I opened my eyes, the moonlight came

and there was death again, calling my name.

Dead you, dead me

a song incredibly sickly but yet so eerily sweet

dancing raindrops hitting both of my feet

a burning desire as death and I meet,

the very last time I’d hear my heart beat

death won the battle as they covered my corpse with a white sheet

he grinned as I died for him,

it was so sickeningly sweet.

Tearful no more when I took my last breath

only then

did I realize I was accepting my death

where the road ends, with all that I know

on that very day,  didn’t I become, the sacred black crow

and I cast out my shadow across a blanket of snow.

My name is Ruth, the Baroness Beaudreau

and this is my song, the song of the sacred black crow.
