on my face

I feel them

like tears from the sky

all the lost souls

from days that have gone by.

Liquid silk

soaking my skin

welling up my heart

deep from within.

The dew on my pelt

others pain felt

crying inside

the great pain they try to hide

smiling for all

on their own outside.

An Empath, I am

I feel all around me

especially their pain

a pain that’s so real.

They weather the storm

despite how they feel

I hold them so close

passing them my energy to heal.

Don’t be afraid

the rain is our friend

dance through the storm

to your living end.

Tattered, Battered, Bruised and sore

Giving to others is what it’s all for.

Out, comes their sun and dries up their pain

They will push through and always remain.

Welcome to the Rivers of Grue. My name is Richard Charles Stevens, Keeper of the Crimson Quill, and this is my immortal legacy. In honour of the fallen, from the deepest essence of an English gentleman with the heart of a lion, soul of a poet, and eyes for only truth. While the subject matters herein may be dark, there exists always a light source. Providing voice to the voiceless until I breathe my very last.
