It’s 4:14 am and I challenge myself to write a 5 minute poem. meaning I have 5 minutes to write a poem to its finish….
Challenge met in 2 minutes and 36 seconds. How you ask… It just came out and I don’t even remember getting past the first line.
All because someone asked me a question.
what’s it all for
when the strangest of souls crosses our door.
Where did they come from
why are they here
what do we do with them
what is there to fear.
How can we trust them
how will it be
if we open ourselves up
wondering, will they be there for me.
Who is this stranger that showed up so freely
If I start talking to them will they actually hear me.
How can we trust them so quickly and clearly
Are we just foolish enough to need someone sincerely.
What do we do when trust is betrayed
run far away and be very afraid.
or learn many lessons and stomp out our own issues
cry many tears and use up all our tissues.
These are just lessons and we go through the motions
now we’re in touch with our own insecure emotions.
What did you learn from this quick little ditty
that it is okay to show sorrow and want pity.
keep foraging forward and don’t be someone’s minion.
Once that you realize you are so much more worthy
for anyone to know you and value your souls
that’s when you stand up and realize you can set your own goals.
Stand up on that Mountain and stretch your arms way up high
reach for infinity and beyond that blue sky.
Know you have value and you never can fall
now it is time to take down that wall.
